I like to refer to my time at the Nigerian law school as my spiritual renaissance. A rebirth. This is truly a representation of what we are in Christ, reborn as his daughters and sons.

At the Nigerian Law School, I experienced God’s constant intentionality. He would speak to me (through thoughts); I would tell him what I wanted/hoped for, and He created avenues to make that happen. It was a time full of joy, adventure, and new experiences with God.

One particular way God showed up was during my morning readings before a class. This time, it was Criminal Jurisdiction in Civil Litigation. There was a particular case that the lecturers penned down as important and asked us to read under Court Martial. Initially, I was not eager to do it but I felt led to do so. Hence, I read it and took notes on the facts, issues, and judgment. I also told God that I wanted to narrate that case in class. At that time, the lecturers had not asked us to do something like that.

During the class, the lecturer asked about that particular case. You can imagine my surprise that it happened just as I had asked. Mustering courage, I pushed forward and raised my hand. God held my hand and helped me narrate it well. The lecturer also encouraged me. God continued to give me opportunities to be courageous and step out of my comfort zone.

This incident served as a turning point in my Nigerian Law School journey. It serves as my constant reminder that God is with me, always, even in the eye of the storm. I love Him and He loves me more; always watching out for me, ensuring that everything works together for my good- towards His intended perfect end.
